Reclaim your tax
Your guide to reclaim your tax
You can reclaim a third of your gift to ADRA
What does this mean for me?
For every dollar you have donated in the past 4 tax years (1 April 2019 – 31 March 2023), you can reclaim 33.33% back from the New Zealand IRD.
ADRA is an approved charity to reclaim from, this means any donation that was made to us is tax-deductible and can be claimed. There are some limitations on who can claim and how much can be claimed, for more specific information on this, visit the government tax website.
What do I need from ADRA?
Before submitting your claim, you will need your tax-deductible consolidated receipt from ADRA. ADRA will send this to you via email or post. This will arrive in mid-April. This receipt will include any past receipts you have received from ADRA in the past year.
Please note, that we can only provide receipts to people who have donated directly to ADRA. If you have given through your church or your tithe, we cannot provide a receipt as we do not have that information. Instead, you should receive a tax-deductible receipt from your church or the wider Seventh-day Adventist church.

How do I submit my tax reclaim?
There are two main ways of submitting your reciepts. The first option is to do this online via a myIR account. For a comprehensive way on how to do this, please visit the government IRD website here.
The second option is to complete and mail in a ‘Tax credit claim form – IR526’. This tax form will be made available after the 31st of March, both here and on the same website listed above.
Can I still donate?
Yes you can!
Any donation made before the 31st of March 2023, can be claimed in your next tax credit claim. If you make a donation after this date, you will be able to reclaim your tax credit in April 2023.
If you want to ensure your donation is received before the 31st of March, the fastest way to give is by calling: 0800 499 911. Or by giving online below.
