Myanmar

Restoring Economic and Agricultural Livelihoods Project

Budget – $723,210

Length – 3 years

Consider it…

Historically, rural farmers in Myanmar’s Shan State earned a majority of their income from poppy farming. But since the banning of poppy farming, farmers have struggled to diversify their incomes, and because they have not had the opportunity to develop other farming techniques and skills, have been struggling with food insecurity ever since.

Act on it…

ADRA is working to increase livelihood opportunities for 1912 households by providing training and a way for women to earn a living in the area of food preservation and handicraft making. Targeted households  will experience higher productivity through trainings, improved knowledge and skill, access to community seed, fertiliser and tool banks, resulting in a secure and sustainable way to provide for their families.
